My Bio

I'm a geek who never grew up! I love reading, Star Wars (and various other franchises/universes? and I'm into all things Japanese aw sell as ancient Egyptian/Roman history & culture.

I've always loved drawing & doodling, and as a child and teen filled any old scrap books, diaries, notepads or whatever with my scribbles and designs. I first started drawing fan art and writing fan fiction in my early 20s, and it was only when I got into gaming that my inspiration really took flight, with the likes of Tekken, Tomb Raider and Final fantasy. I'm driven by inspiration rather than imagination, and in the past 10 years or so, it's been Japanese fashion that has fuelled that inspiration.

I can't believe it's been over a week already since the latest Hyper Japan. All that build up and excitement, and then - poof! - it's over. Anyway, here's my report of 2 fantastic days. Normally, on a Friday morning, I’m up with the birds and on my way to work, so it was nice to have a lie in as the Friday session doesn’t begin until midday.   I fell back on the old favourite of my Bodyline beige Chocoberry A-line JSK, simply because it’s so comfortable and perfectly summery with its strawberry and chocolate theme. My friend Fi wore here Attack on Titan double-sided tee she bought last time. At 9.30 in the morning, we we

I recently got hold of a copy of so this book by Jane Mai and An Nguyen, which is a real treat for both longstanding and newbie lolitas. It's a compilation of the girls' essays and comic strips that sheds light on the world of Lolita fashion and highlights some of the interesting challenges that face those who embrace this cute but complex subculture. Even though I have been interested in J-fashion for over a decade, I was still fascinated by some of the dilemmas portrayed in the charming and sometimes macabre comic stories. One thing that did intrigue me, was how some girls develop what could only be described as an addiction to Lolita fas

Ah, the late 1990s, when console gaming was just simple offline fun; where nobody really cared about leaderboards or trophies, and the MMOs were on PC only. And, most importantly, when developers hadn’t yet got into the habit of screwing gamers over by expecting them to cough up for extras on top of the price of the game, or when games weren’t rushed out to meet deadlines and ended up full of glitches (and I’m not talking about Vanellope Von Schweetz!) Back when the original PlayStation was at the height of its popularity, there were stacks of games magazines full to bursting with walkthroughs, cheats, reviews and the
